Everyone here already knows how much I love Joel's music from the reviews I did, but I had to share a thought or two about the amazing experience of seeing him perform live. On Wednesday 9/9, I saw Joel perform in Black Mountain at the "Town Pump." Just as I expected, he was phenomenal. My only disappointment was the venue because my ears were sometimes bombarded with the noise from an erupting dart game in the back of the room. On Fri., 9/11, I got to see Joel again at "Bean Streets" in Asheville.

I admit that I am a guitar snob and it takes a lot of chops and passsionate playing to impress me. I knew from his recorded music that Joel is a most amazing musician, but nothing prepared me for experiencing his music live. His energy level is HIGH, his guitar playing was nothing short of pyrotechnic and his voice was so absolutely beautiful, whether he was singing gravelly blues or sweet, floating falsetto.

If Joel is playing anywhere near you, DO NOT miss his show. Joel is a musical messiah and I intend to spread the gospel :-)
