| Cage's
unorthadox and aggressive, yet sensitive, approach to his guitar
styling,
vocals and writing, the culmination of years spent performing with
rock'n
roll bands, including a three year stint, at a very early age, with the
internationally renown touring/recording group Southside Johnny
&
the Asbury Jukes, has earned him the respect and friendship of
fellow
New England based colleagues .
"Joel Cage's thoughtful songs are
straight - forward
and sure, with a voice to match, but it ës his brilliantly sharp
guitar-work
that ignites the tunes." THE
BOSTON GLOBE
"Joel"s amazingly dynamic guitar
playing,
his soaring vocals , and his 'high intensity' energetic performance
brought
our audience to it's feet screaming for more! Joel Cage's performances
- place them in the must see category" Cliff
Seltzer,

"It's a real gift to be able to
turn those
mysterious sensations of love into words that don't make people squirm.
You've got it." Bruce Cameron "If I was to put
together
a group of intense singer - songwriters for a seminal concert, Joel Cage
would be first on my list!" Jeff Thornton, "Z-93", KZNM, Minnesota |

Joel performed in the Club Passim / Club 47 40th Anniversary Concert, celebrating 40 years of folk music at The Sanders Theater in Cambridge, one of the nation's most prestigious venues. It was of this performance that THE BOSTON GLOBE was prompted to say "Joel Cage's thoughtful songs are straightforward and sure, with a voice to match, but it's his brilliantly sharp guitar-work that ignites the tunes." Joel also was featured twice at the infamous Bluebird Cafe in Nashville and received favorable reviews in the widely read Music Row Magazine (Nashville) and Performing Songwriter Magazine's DIY Department, where, of Cage's CD Nobody it was declared that "folks, this is how it's done." Joel's third and fourth CDs, JOEL CAGE LIVE-Windmills Are Coming and Professional Stranger continue the journey down the path towards what promises to be a very exciting career. "With husky,
heart-felt vocals
and an aggressive acoustic guitar style reminiscent of Steve Stills,
his
performances offer more than the standard bill-of-fare of most folk
singers,
and more musicality and sensitivity than your average rock band.
Somewhere
in between, with a comprehensive knowledge of both, Joel Cage's
performances
are both powerfully energetic, and subtly moving. He is evocative,
mesmerizing,
and totally musical, a showman with miles of experience behind him, and
an honesty that is truly engaging."
